Fall forecast: How La Niña will impact Puget Sound

The Climate Prediction Center is calling for wetter than normal conditions, while there will be an equal chance of temperatures being above and below average.

SEATTLE — We’re on La Niña Watch heading into fall 2025, and even though La Niña is more known for its impacts during the winter season, it can still play a role during autumn as well. 

Typically during a La Niña winter the forecast for western Washington calls for wetter and cooler conditions. There are signs of those type of conditions ahead to start off the season across the Pacific Northwest.
