Urban Earth in Seattle will close on Nov. 1 as a developer plans to replace the nursery with a new apartment building.
SEATTLE — Home gardeners have only a few weeks left to shop at Urban Earth Nursery and Garden Service in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood. The longtime nursery is closing in November.
A developer plans to replace the property with an eight-story apartment building that will include 130 units. The landlord says there is not enough space to keep the nursery and construction equipment. Rising rent costs also contributed to the closure.
