SEATTLE — Washington state now has the most expensive gas in the United States, surpassing California’s average price.
The average price of gas in Washington is $4.66 a gallon. The national average is $3.17.
In King County, the average price on Monday was up to $4.87. Other counties around Puget Sound were seeing similar average prices, according to AAA.
The highest recorded average price for regular unleaded in Washington state was $5.55 in June of 2022, according to AAA.
