Clock in: ‘Late Shift’ project aims to extend nightlife in downtown Everett

A grassroots initiative is pushing Everett businesses to open later for evening events.

EVERETT, Wash. — Everett has a reputation for rolling up the sidewalks early, but a grassroots initiative hopes to change that by encouraging businesses to stay open later and offer more evening activities.

Late Shift Everett, organized by the nonprofit Everett Music Initiative, invites local businesses to extend their hours and provide late-night menus, live music, pop-up events and sidewalk sales. All participating venues and events will be listed on the Late Shift Everett webpage.
