King County Auditor’s Office issues $900 million correction to DCHS report

The office issued the correction Tuesday and said it was to “revise important contextual information in our audit.”

SEATTLE — The King County Auditor’s Office has issued a correction to its report on the Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS), originally released on Aug. 26. The correction was shared in a letter to King County council members.

The revision updates the amount of grant funding DCHS awarded in 2019–2020 and 2023–2024. The audit had previously reported $1.5 billion in grants for 2023 and 2024; that figure has been revised to $1.8 billion.
