The NFL Kickoff Game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles has been a rather entertaining contest so far.
But fans will need to wait a bit to see the game conclude.
With a storm cell moving into the vicinity of Lincoln Financial Field, with lightning present, the league has suspended the game with just under five minutes remaining in the third quarter.
Update: the game is expected to resume at 11:30 p.m. ET.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area, noting that the storms “may produce severe conditions.” According to the latest forecast, thunderstorms are expected to conclude around 12:15 a.m.
