ENUMCLAW, Wash. — The White River Bridge remains closed between Buckley and Enumclaw ahead of the start of school, leaving local families bracing for a lengthy commute.
A semi-truck crashed into the bridge, causing extensive damage, on Aug. 19. The bridge will remain closed indefinitely.
A signed detour is in place for travelers using state Routes 164, 18, 167 and 410. The detour can add up to 45 minutes of travel, according to the city of Enumclaw.
