CLE ELUM, Wash. — Firefighters are working to contain the Sun Country fire in Kittitas County, with officials saying they’ll know more Tuesday night about the plan for the rest of the week.
The fire started around 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, when multiple fires ignited along Interstate 90 between mileposts 77 and 84 near Cle Elum. It spread toward the Sun Country and Little Creek areas, forcing a two-hour closure of I-90 in both directions. The cause remains under investigation.
