Charles Kipps and Tom Fontana will vy for the president post at the Writers Guild of America East.
The guild that represents East Coast-based TV and film writers will open voting for the election on Sept. 5. Voting closes at 5 p.m. ET on Sept. 18.
Kipps is a veteran film and TV writer and novelist. Fontana is a past WGA East vice president and veteran showrunner known for such series as NBC’s “Homicide: Life on the Street” and HBO’s “Oz.” The winner will succeed Lisa Takeuchi Cullen in the top elected post at the guild.
