Netflix has renewed “Dept. Q” for a second season.
The series stars Matthew Goode as Carl Morck, a detective chief inspector in Edinburgh. Per the official logline, Carl “is a brilliant cop but a terrible colleague,” who survives a shooting that kills a young polive officer and paralyzes his partner. Traumatized, he is relegated to become the only member of the police department’s cold case unit, but unexpectedly “starts to build a gang of waifs and strays who have everything to prove.” Together, they begin to unravel the case of disappeared prosecutor Merritt Lingard (Chloe Pirrie). Alexej Manvelov, Kelly Macdonald and Leah Byrne star alongside Goode and Pirrie.
