China Box Office: ‘Nobody’ Climbs to No. 1 as Jackie Chan’s ‘The Shadow’s Edge’ Opens

Shanghai Animation Film’s animated adventure “Nobody” rose to the top of the China box office in its second weekend, grossing RMB237.1 million ($32.9 million) between Aug. 15–17, according to Artisan Gateway.

After opening in second place last week, the film has now earned $138.5 million. Directed by Yu Shui, the film draws inspiration from “Journey to the West,” reimagining the classic mythology through the eyes of minor demons on their own spiritual pilgrimage. The film is in second position at the global box office, according to Comscore.
