‘Mechanical issue’ takes newly restored Wenatchee out of service

SEATTLE — Washington State Ferries has pulled its newly renovated hybrid-electric ferry Wenatchee from service after a mechanical problem Friday, a month after it returned to the fleet following a $96 million conversion.

The agency said the Wenatchee experienced the issue while docking at Colman Dock Friday morning. All passengers and vehicles offloaded normally. WSF did not specify the nature of the problem but said mechanical and maintenance crews were inspecting the vessel.
