Cathcart residents sue to halt vast Eastview Village project

The county approved land clearing permits despite an appeal that is still playing out in court.

CATHCART, Wash. — Residents of the Cathcart community have taken Snohomish County to court, hoping to stop a massive housing development. The neighbors allege officials are prioritizing a deal with developers over public safety concerns.

DR Horton, the nation’s largest home builder, plans to develop 145 acres into Eastview Village. The project encompasses 1,300 homes and 61,000 square feet of retail space across what amounts to 58 city blocks.
