China’s box office remained dominated by local-language releases during the Aug. 1–3 weekend. All five of the top-charting titles were domestic productions.
“Dead to Rights,” distributed by China Film Group, led the chart for a second consecutive weekend, adding RMB 609.3 million ($84.6 million), bringing its cumulative gross to RMB 1.515 billion ($210.4 million), according to data from Artisan Gateway.
