Bear Gulch Fire: Level 3 ‘Go now’ evacuations issued for area north of Lake Cushman

The Bear Gulch Fire increased by 700 acres since Tuesday, and fire activity is expected to remain strong Wednesday.

HOODSPORT, Wash. — Emergency managers issued Level 3 “Go now” evacuations for areas north of Lake Cushman on Wednesday as the Bear Gulch Fire grows.

The Dry Creek Trail, including Staircase Campground and the causeway on the north side of Lake Cushman, are included in the Level 3 evacuation. Under this evacuation level, people should grab their emergency kit, load family and animals and leave.

The area south of Dry Creek is under a Level 1 evacuation, meaning people should be ready to evacuate.
