View Ridge neighbors scrub away hate, call for action after antisemitic graffiti

On Friday, members of nearby synagogues brought cleaning supplies and scrubbed the symbol away themselves.

SEATTLE — Neighbors in Seattle’s View Ridge neighborhood are calling for stronger support for the Jewish community after someone spray-painted a swastika and Star of David on a utility box near a pair of synagogues.

Aviad Benzikry, who lives nearby, said his wife saw the graffiti while driving by. The image hit especially close to home — two synagogues are just blocks away,
