SUMNER, Wash. — A historic building that stood in downtown Sumner for more than 150 years is now just a memory.
The city demolished the historic Ryan House on Friday after two years of litigation and pushback from some community members. On Friday, those community members watched as the Ryan House was reduced to rubble.
“Two portions of the building date back to 1860, they’re all in a dumpster now,” said Dale Loseth, president of the Sumner Historical Society.
