OLYMPIA, Wash. — Olympia voters are being asked to raise the city’s minimum wage.
If the November initiative passes, businesses with more than 500 employees would have to start paying their employees a minimum of $20 an hour Jan. 1, 2026.
Smaller businesses would have to reach that level in coming years.
Olympia currently requires employers to pay workers the Washington minimum wage of $16.66 per hour.
The wage increase is part of what the city is calling the “Workers’ Bill of Rights.”
