I-5 north reopens through downtown Seattle, but lane reductions continue on Ship Canal Bridge

The Ship Canal Bridge will be down to two lanes going northbound through Aug. 15. Immediately after, there will be another major I-5 closure.

SEATTLE — Interstate 5 has reopened through downtown Seattle after being closed all weekend; however, travelers may still encounter some delays, depending on their destination. 

The Ship Canal Bridge is now down to two lanes going northbound through Aug. 18. 

During last weekend’s I-5 closure, Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews installed a cement barrier closing off the two right lanes of the bridge to drivers. WSDOT will do repair work during the closure.
