Port Angeles residents asked to conserve water after 3,000-gallon fuel spill into Indian Creek

Indian Creek feeds into the Elwha River, which is the main water source for the City of Port Angeles.

CLALLAM COUNTY, Wash. — Port Angeles residents are asked to conserve water after a fuel spill into a creek that feeds into the city’s main water source. 

A tanker truck rolled and spilled an estimated 3,000 gallons of diesel and gasoline into Indian Creek in Clallam County, according to the Department of Ecology. Indian Creek feeds into the Elwha River, which is the main source of potable water for Port Angeles. In response, they cut off the reservoir to incoming water.
