Firefighters honor Puget Sound Fire captain after occupational cancer death

Firefighters from across the region gathered to honor Captain Brandon Minneman of Puget Sound Fire, who died from occupational cancer after 17 years of service.

KENT, Wash. — Firefighters from across the region gathered on Friday to honor Captain Brandon Minneman of Puget Sound Fire, who died from occupational cancer after 17 years of service. The father of three and the husband to Abby Minneman was remembered during a ceremony that highlighted a growing cancer crisis among firefighters.

“Today we are holding a celebration of life for Captain Brandon Minneman from Puget Sound Fire,” said Division Chief Pat Pawlak. “It is a very somber day.”
