Pierce County man recommends use of 988 despite Trump’s cut of LGBTQ youth lifeline

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash — The Trump administration has shut down a portion of the national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline that was dedicated to serving LGBTQ youth — a move drawing concern from mental health advocates and community members across Washington.

One of them is Danny Jablonski, a Pierce County man who credits the 988 hotline with saving his life.
