Julio Rodriguez elects to skip MLB All-Star Game

Rdoriguez was selected through the Player Ballot to the American League All-Star team.

SEATTLE — Julio Rodriguez will not be joining his teammates in traveling to Atlanta for Major League Baseball’s (MLB) All-Star Game next week.

The Mariners announced Rodriguez will not participate after being selected for the American League’s (AL) roster. He was set to join starting catcher Cal Raleigh and pitchers Bryan Woo and Andres Munoz in Tuesday’s game.

“He will take the break to recuperate, rest and prepare for the second half,” the Mariners said in a release.
