As Leiweke team competed for Climate Pledge deal, competitor criticized Seattle’s process

In 2017, as the city considered proposals to redevelop Climate Pledge Arena, the only competing bidder publicly questioned the ‘integrity’ of the process.

SEATTLE — Oak View Group CEO Timothy J. Leiweke was indicted Wednesday on conspiracy charges for allegedly rigging the bidding process behind the Moody Center project at the University of Texas in Austin.

He has strong connections to Seattle and was involved in the redevelopment of Climate Pledge Arena. A competitor criticized the city of Seattle’s handling of that process in 2017.
