Cal Raleigh earns first All-Star nod with historic start for Mariners

Raleigh’s 33 home runs before July 1 are the third-most all-time, behind Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire.

SEATTLE — Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh was named an All-Star starter Wednesday afternoon in recognition of his career breakout this season. 

Raleigh started the 2025 season at a historic clip, hitting a Major League Baseball (MLB) best 33 home runs and 71 runs batted in before the All-Star break. Raleigh’s 33 home runs before July 1 are the third-most all-time, behind Barry Bonds (39) and Mark McGwire (37). 

This will mark Raleigh’s first All-Star appearance in his five-year career.
