Ferguson selects Florida firm to build three new hybrid-electric ferries

The vessels will serve key routes in Puget Sound, including Seattle to Bremerton and Mukilteo to Clinton.

SEATTLE — Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson announced Tuesday that Eastern Shipbuilding Group, a Florida-based company, was awarded a $714.5 million contract to construct three new hybrid-electric ferries for the state. 

The vessels will serve key routes in Puget Sound, including Seattle to Bremerton and Mukilteo to Clinton.
