Sammamish woman awarded $4.5M after cyclist crash, but attorney says medical costs exceed settlement

After a crash caused a severe brain injury, future medical care costs exceed $10 million, the woman’s attorney said.

SAMMAMISH, Wash. — A Sammamish woman who suffered a severe brain injury after being struck by a cyclist on the East Lake Sammamish Trail has reached a $4.55 million settlement. But her attorney said the funds will not be able to cover all of her ongoing medical needs.
