The city of Des Moines was recently proclaimed as the “Sixgill shark capital of the world.”
The Bluntnose sixgill shark is a deep-sea predator that typically stays far from people to even catch a glimpse, except in Des Moines, according to Rus Higley, director of Highline MaST Center Aquarium.
