LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Grieving parents in Pierce County are suing a funeral home they say mishandled their daughter’s body.
Ashleigh and Michael Thornburg said they signed a contract and paid for their daughter Ryleigh’s body to be embalmed at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, but nearly three weeks later, they discovered the embalming never happened.
“There’s no accountability. There’s no real acknowledgment that what they did was wrong,” said Ashleigh Thornburg, Ryleigh’s mother.
