Two people made it out of the home, but one person remains missing, Island County Sheriff’s Office says.
OAK HARBOR, Wash. — One person is missing and two others were injured after a house exploded and caught fire Tuesday evening on Whidbey Island, authorities said.
Emergency crews responded to reports of an explosion and fire at a home on Strawberry Point Road in Oak Harbor around 5:45 p.m., according to the Island County Sheriff’s Office.
Three adults were inside the home at the time of the explosion. Two of them escaped with minor injuries, while a third remains unaccounted for, the sheriff’s office said.
