King County deputy accused of raping teen pleads not guilty

Ricardo Cueva, who led a volunteer program intended for teens and young adults who have an interest in law enforcement, was arrainged Thursday on rape charges.

BURIEN, Wash. — A King County Sheriff’s deputy responsible for leading Burien’s Police Explorer Program for teens and young adults pleaded not guilty Thursday to rape charges.

Ricardo Arturo Cueva, 39, was charged May 30 with one count of first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor and one count of third-degree rape. His bail was set at $150,000, and if posted, he will be released on home monitoring and not allowed to leave the state without permission.
