A field that began with 64 teams chasing Omaha dreams is down to 16.
By the end of this coming weekend, that number will be cut in half, and the final eight will be on their way to Nebraska, and the Men’s College World Series.
Regional action last weekend trimmed the starting bracket of 64 teams down to just 16 via a double-elimination format, and now the tournament shifts to a best-of-three series with eight matchups, starting on Friday, June 6. Unlike last year, which saw just one Super Regional matchup between teams seeded in the Top 16, this year’s Super Regionals features three such matchups: No 9 Florida
