Lynnwood Pride accuses city of discrimination after Pride flag removal

The local LGBTQ+ nonprofit tried to put up an unauthorized Pride flag at Wilcox park, which the city says is against city policy.

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — A local LGBTQ+ nonprofit is accusing the City of Lynnwood of discrimination after a Pride flag they raised at Wilcox Park on Sunday was taken down. The city says the removal was due to city policy, not prejudice.

Lynnwood Pride raised the flag during an event celebrating the start of Pride Month. The flag was placed below existing American flags and a POW flag, but was quickly removed by Parks and Recreation Director Joel Faber.
