2.9 magnitude earthquake recorded near Mount Vernon

An earthquake shook near Mount Vernon on Tuesday morning.

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A 2.9 magnitude earthquake was recorded early Tuesday morning near Mount Vernon.

The shakes were recorded around 1:59 a.m. Tuesday about 3 kilometers west of Mount Vernon, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network. It was recorded at a depth of 8.7 km.

No impacts from the earthquake have been reported so far.
