Major League Baseball is holding events at all 30 ballparks to honor the late Lou Gehrig and all of those affected by ALS.
SEATTLE — Major League Baseball marked its fifth annual Lou Gehrig Day on June 2, with all 30 clubs participating in a league-wide tribute to the legendary Yankees first baseman and raising awareness for ALS, the disease that bears his name.
The Seattle Mariners will honor the occasion on June 3, when players, coaches, and umpires will wear special No. 4 patches—styled in Yankees colors and font—alongside red “4-ALS” wristbands.
