I-5 pothole work near Grand Mound could cause 7-mile back-ups

Planned construction on southbound I-5 in Thurston County could add two hours of travel time, WSDOT said.

GRAND MOUND, Wash. — Drivers traveling through Thurston County could face a traffic headache on Monday and Tuesday as construction crews complete road repairs on Interstate 5.

Southbound I-5 will be reduced to one lane for a 2-mile stretch in Grand Mound from 6 a.m. to noon on Monday and Tuesday. The lane reductions will begin at the U.S. 12 ramp to southbound I-5.
