JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wash. — Most lanes of Highway 101 near Brinnon are blocked as crews continue to battle a significant fire that broke out Thursday night.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office first reported just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday that both directions of Highway 101 between Quilcene and Brinnon were closed while crews worked to extinguish a large structure fire.
The roadway was fully blocked for several hours overnight. At 12:45 a.m. Friday, Jefferson County deputies said one lane had opened for alternating traffic, but that delays should still be expected for the next eight hours.
Officials have not said anything about what potentially caused the fire
