Ember Hanshaw has four health issues involving her heart and lungs.
SEQUIM, Wash. — To see Ember Hanshaw playing and laughing with her mother at their local park, you’d think Ember is just like any other kid. But Ember is exceptional, in many ways that include a rare health condition.
Ember is an excellent student, and has a heart of gold. Unfortunately, her heart is also broken.
“I just try not to think about it too much,” Ember said.
Ember was born with a hole in her heart. It’s a condition that almost always heals with time.
