The defense said that “the passage of time can help mitigate the taint of media exposure.”
BOISE, Idaho — The defense team for the man alleged to have killed four University of Idaho students filed a motion on Wednesday urging the judge to postpone the start of the trial.
The filed motion gave several reasons the defense wanted the postponement. One of the reasons given was the recent leaks of non-public evidence to Dateline. Just last week, Judge Steven Hippler ordered both the defense and prosecution to turn in full lists of everyone involved in the case in hopes of figuring out who leaked the information.
