Medics subdue shooter in Seattle’s Pioneer Square until police arrive

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition, police say.

SEATTLE — Medics from the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) held down a man after seeing him shoot someone else in Pioneer Square until police arrived.

Seattle police say dispatch received a report just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday from SFD, whose medics were treating an unrelated person for exposure to pepper spray when they witnessed a 26-year-old man shoot another man.

The suspect fought with medics at the scene, but they were able to subdue and hold him down until officers could arrive. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident,
