Patrick Cooney received a 35-year prison sentence for killing Seattle activist Elijah Lewis in 2023.
SEATTLE — Patrick Cooney, convicted in February of second-degree murder for the 2023 killing of Seattle community activist Elijah Lewis, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.
Cooney was sentenced Friday to 207 months, or just over 17 years, for the second-degree murder charge, and 93 months, or nearly eight years, for first-degree assault. Cooney was also sentenced to 60 months, or five years, for a firearm enhancement on each charge.
