Tacoma schools reveal how many staff members will be impacted by budget cuts

The 300 Tacoma Public Schools employees impacted include 105 first- and second-year teachers who did not get their contracts renewed by the district.

TACOMA, Wash. — More than 300 school employees will either have their jobs cut or adjusted in Tacoma Public Schools as a result of the district facing a $30 million budget shortfall.

KING 5 has been following the cuts closely over the past month.

“It’s hard for us to make the decisions of where are you going to cut back, to continue to see the results, when you have less dollars to see it with,” said Tanisha Jumper, the chief communications officer
