2 hurt in Renton police shooting during arrest

No officers were injured during the incident in Renton on Friday evening.

RENTON, Wash. — Two people were injured when Renton Police Department (RPD) officers attempted to arrest a shooting suspect on Friday evening. 

Renton police and Valley SWAT members tried to arrest a suspect when “gunfire broke out,” police said. The shooting suspect is in custody and two other people are injured, according to the department. 

Officers fired their guns during the incident, but it’s not clear how many officers were involved. RPD said no officers were injured.

Investigators remained on scene into the night near 116th Avenue Southeast and Southeast
