SEATTLE — Washington Attorney General Nick Brown is suing the Trump administration over an executive order he signed back in January declaring a “national energy emergency.”
The lawsuit, which was filed on Friday in King County, argues that there is no actual national emergency, saying the declaration was only made so oil and natural gas companies could bypass environmental regulations, including “critical reviews” required by the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act and the Historic National Preservation Act for energy projects.
