A former city clerk in Morton pleaded guilty to wire fraud after stealing over $900,000.
MORTON, Wash. — A former city clerk for the City of Morton pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court Wednesday to wire fraud in connection to a scheme to steal more than $900,000.
Tamara Clevenger has agreed to make restitution to the city. She faces up to 20 years in prison, though prosecutors agreed to recommend a three-year prison term. A judge is not bound by this recommendation.
She will be sentenced July 7.
