SEATTLE — Thousands of demonstrators filled the streets of Seattle Thursday in a sweeping May Day protest advocating for workers’ rights, immigrant protections, and fair wages.
The march began with a rally at Cal Anderson Park in Capitol Hill and covered more than two miles through the heart of downtown. Protesters chanted and waved signs beneath this year’s event slogan: “We Make America Work.”
The protest, led by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), included healthcare workers, janitors, food service employees, and public sector staff. It underscored solidarity among labor
